The Flag of St David (Dewi Sant in Welsh) is a gold cross on a black field. It is often used as a flag representing Wales, as an alternative to the national Red Dragon flag, in the same way that the crosses of St George and St Andrew are used to represent England and Scotland (of which they are, respectively, patron saints). On St David's Day this flag often plays a central role in the celebrations, and can be seen flying throughout the nation.
